Nominations for the MSC Board of Directors
The Mars Society of Canada (MSC) is a federally incorporated, non-profit organization that conducts its
activities through the work of volunteers and with the support of a general membership. To advance our
mandates, the MSC has a Board of Directors (BoD) that establishes and develops organizational
priorities and we are presently seeking nominations for directors.
We presently have four vacancies on our BoD and we are looking forward to expanding our team with enthusiastic, talented individuals who are ready to make a commitment to the guidance and governance of the MSC. As a director, you may lead specific committees, be appointed as an officer, or be a director at large without a specific portfolio.
Directors must be successfully nominated and subsequently elected by MSC members who have the right to vote at our Annual General Meeting.
Process for Board of Director Nominations and Elections
- The Nomination Committee reviewed and approved three nominations for the Board of Directors on May 31st, 2023. The three nominees are Dr. Pooneh Maghoul, Dr. Hanieh M. Provencher, and Glenn Scott.
- Electronic voting by our members will take place from June 21st to June 27th, 2023. As there are an equal number of nominees as there were vacancies, voting members will be allowed to either approve or disapprove each nominee. Voting members may review each nominee here.
- Successfully elected directors will be announced at the MSC Annual General Meeting which will be held on September 9th, 2023 at 2 PM (EDT).
The MSC actively encourages members of all backgrounds, communities and regions of Canada to consider submitting their nomination. If you have any questions about what is entailed with a directorship, please do not hesitate to contact any member of our present BoD.
