Welcome to the Sustainable Martian Technology Hackathon!

Mission to Mars: Sustainable Innovations

The Sustainable Martian Technology Hackathon is co-organized by The Mars Society of Canada, Astrolith and PolyOrbite of the Polytechnique Montréal and takes place In Montreal on March 22nd, 2025. This event will be open to advanced undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates. The Hackathon aims to build entrepreneurial skills by developing innovative technological solutions for the Earth, Mars and future space missions.

We invite teams of 3 to 5 people to register and submit a brief description (under 200 words) of your SMTH project to below in “Submit you Hackathon Project”.

Suggested Topics:

  • Propulsion systems for space and the Martian atmosphere
  • Space health and biotechnology for sustaining life in space
  • Deployment of self-sustaining Agricultural systems on Mars
  • Wide range of robotics applications for space exploration
  • Wide range of spacecraft applications for space exploration

Our long-term goal is to bring together brilliant minds, engineers, and visionaries to push the boundaries of technology and overcome the obstacles of interplanetary living. Sustainable Martian Technology Hackathon will create a platform for innovative ideas that can shape the future of space exploration.
