Jin Sing Sia

Jin Sia
Jin Sing Sia.

Jin Sing Sia has been an aspiring space explorer for as long as he can remember, and was inspired by The Case for Mars to dedicate his life to landing explorers on the red planet. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in electrical engineering at Western University’s Institute for Earth and Space Exploration in Ontario, Canada, where he researches space qualification for multispectral imagers. A Malaysian citizen by birth, he traveled on his own to Canada at the age of 15 to get closer to the cutting edge of the space industry. Jin is also an avid environmentalist and die-hard science fiction lover. He participated in a Mars analog mission at the Mars Desert Research Station as part of Crew 228 in the fall of 2021, during which he shared his daily experiences on The Mars Society of Canada’s MarsLog. He served as the Chief Diversity Officer and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors until July, 2023.
