Annual General Meeting, 2023

We are please to announce that The Mars Society of Canada (MSC) will be having its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 9th at 2 PM (EDT). All official members, volunteers and special invitees are welcome to attend. It will be held entirely online via Zoom and if you plan to be there, please RSVP by sending an email to Glenn Scott. The AGM will be an opportunity for us to discuss our activities over the past year, and what our plans are for the future. There have been many exciting developments and we are looking forward to telling you about them!

The AGM will include a presentation by James Burk, Executive Director of The Mars Society (US), who will talk about Mars analog missions and exciting developments at the Flashline Mars Arctic Research Station (FMARS) in Canada’s High Arctic.

1) Welcome Address (5 minutes): Glenn Scott, President of the MSC

2) New Board Member Introductions (10 minutes): Dr. Pooneh Maghoul & Dr. Hânieh M. Provencher

3) Committee Annual Reports (each will be a 4 minute presentation followed by a 4 minute Q & A):

  • Social Media Committee (8 minutes): Karan Singh
  • Research Committee (8 minutes): Dr. Hânieh M. Provencher, MSC Director
  • Analog Missions Committee (8 minutes): Amanda Spilkin, MSC Director
  • MEP Committee (8 minutes): TBD
  • SPEX2024 (8 minutes): Rym Chaïd, MSC Director

4) Keynote Speaker (20 minute presentation, 10 minute Q & A): James Burk, TMS Executive Director

5) Closing Address and MEMES Announcement (5 minutes): Glenn Scott
