About Me and My Blog
Hi, I would like to personally welcome you to Mars Society Canada. My mission at Mars Society is to provide you with the latest and great news in the fields of science, technology, and space related fields. I am very much a geek when it comes to topics around Space and in particular Mars. Please feel free to use the contact form to message me with any suggestions that you would have for additional content. The content must be relative to space, science, or technology and if it peaks my interest I will take the time to thoroughly research and write about it.
A little bit about myself. My name is Brian Jamie Houston and I am currently living in a small town named Midland about an hour north of Toronto. I find that this exclusivity provides an excellent opportunity to view the stars without mass light interference (This is very important for those of you who have a high powered telescope). I am happily married with two children, sweet little Bonnie and Annie Marie. Originally from a small town in the United States named Ocala, Florida I went to school at Vanguard High. After graduating from their IB program I followed my education with a BA and MS in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Immediately following my studies at University, I worked for a large company named Orbital Sciences for roughly 8 years. During this time I helped with the creation of the “Antares” rocket. The rocket is designed to launch cargo into space. This will allow Orbital Science to launch more physical material in space in a more cost effective manner. Following the creation of the Antares I decided to retire and move to Midland. While I still live in Canada, I do a lot of traveling. I am now working for myself and taking the time to enjoy life. This blog is an extension of my life and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I enjoy writing it.
If you would like to get in touch with me please use the contact form. This will email me with your message and is the fastest way to get a hold of me. Thank you and I hope you enjoy my site.
